This has to be one of the best value for money 3 way component sets on the market currently and as we found out they sound as good as they look after we included them in a recent full upgrade in a Mazda 6.Like the 2-way version, this system uses the same 50/50 paper/wool woofers with aluminum CNC cut phase plugs and 1-inch pivoting silk dome tweeters. Packaged with an outboard 3-way crossover that offers selectable attenuation.

Back in the summer of 2020 we had Les and his wife Cath pop in to discuss an exciting concept with us, Les wanted to have Volkswagen Golf bumpers on his Skoda VRS and to have a Volkswagen style bootlid all of which require a fair amount of custom fabrication. After coming up with a plan of attack we started the task at hand starting with the front bumper. The measure twice cut once method was very much needed in this project , having to cut the Skoda bumper to create a frame and cutting the same kind of frame off the opposite part of the Golf bumper to try and splice the lines and curves together. Once we were happy with how it looked together it was time to temporarily attach it together and chack fit ment before plastic welding the two parts together to create the new single bumper. This kind of work is not for the faint hearted as a serious mistake at this stage would set you back in time and could even render the two bumpers useless needing new ones to start all over again.
Once the two parts became one it would then require some body working to create the right shape and look so it looks almost OEM as Skoda themselves released this, contouring the two seperate parts with sanding and fiberglass then smoothing with body filler and fine grade sand paper ready for primer.
The rear bumper would prove to be the same process just a bit more fettling was required due to the shape of the golf bumper compared to the VRS bumper.
We were also challenged with completely changing the tailgate/bootlid by smoothing and installing the boot handle with that of a VW golf.
When we recieved this car for the work to commence we didn’t know quite what a special car this was. This Shelby Mustang has a little story attached to it. The car came in black which looked good, however the customer (which was a dealership) explained that in order for this to go to aution it would need to be closer to standard. After a lot of research, we found that this is a special version of the Fifth-Gen Shelby Mustang GT, created for Californian dealers (hence the ‘C’), only 215 GT-Cs were made, all in Grabber Orange. The cars rolled off the Flat Rock, Michigan assembly line like any other Mustang, but were sent for special treatment at Shelby American in Las Vegas.
The specs varied, but this one is nicely kitted out with a 5.0-litre supercharged V8. It’s also fitted with a Ford FR3 Racing pack, which gives you new dampers, stiffer springs and beefier anti-roll bars. Inside, there’s a Hurst short-throw shift kit for the five-speed manual gearbox, complete with a natty cue ball gear knob. The finishing touch is a signature on the passenger-side sun visor from the late Carroll Shelby himself. It also has only one former owner which was Manchester City footballer Vincent Kompany and only has an incredible 2978 miles on the clock.
So the heat was on with this one and we ended up with a pretty crazy deadline for the work too. The car came into this country in Grabber Orange and was then wrapped matt black for its only owner, this was later removed and it was repainted in gloss black which is where we would be taking over. The car needed to go back to Grabber Orange and have its decals replaced. Once all the panels were removed, it was repaired where needed and sanded down to give us a good key for the next process. Once in the booth, it’s masked up ready for primer to give us a good base we can trust to put the topcoat onto. We block the primer down to make sure the base for the topcoat is perfectly flat and free from imperfections. Five coats of Grabber Orange basecoat later, it is ready for the clearcoat.
Once cleared, the car is baked in the oven to cure the paint ready for colour sanding and polishing. Then onto building the car back up, attaching the panels and other parts we previously removed. The next stage would be the decals that are satin silver that just finish the car off perfectly.
Once it was all completed we fully detailed the car to make sure it was looking good and fresh as it was off for a photoshoot with some other rare classic Shelby Mustangs. It would then go onto the dealership to be put ready for auction. This would be an incredible example to put into someone’s collection if they were in the market for one and will only appreciate from now on.

Dream Ice was just an idea back in 2005 but in 2007 we turned the idea into reality, opening in December of that year from our first unit in Hinckley. After success with In Car Entertainment we wanted to be able to offer more to our customers. It was in 2017 we found potential for further growth. With this in mind we moved in 2018 to a premises 4 times the size to accomplish what we needed so that we could offer the services that our customers required.
Now moving forward towards another goal we have decided to start this blog page where we will be keeping up to date with new exciting products coming soon, doing some product reviews of our own, product recommendations for specific jobs, keeping build logs of some of our larger projects and custom work and also helping out with some of your jobs with ” How to ” guides.
